Infant–Toddler Floater Teacher

About the Job
We are seeking a caring, energetic, and dependable Floater Teacher to join our team. This position supports the social, emotional, and developmental growth of children ages 6 weeks–3 years in a safe, structured, and nurturing environment. The Floater will assist across Infant, Toddler, and Twos classrooms as needed.
The ideal candidate is patient, organized, flexible, and passionate about early childhood education.

Primary Responsibilities:
Classroom & Learning:
  • Implement age-appropriate activities and curriculum across assigned classrooms.
  • Support circle time, centers, and small group learning.
  • Encourage language, motor, and social development.
  • Create a warm, positive classroom environment.
  • Assist with lesson preparation and materials.
Child Supervision & Safety:
  • Supervise children at all times (indoors & outdoors).
  • Maintain required staff-to-child ratios in all assigned classrooms.
  • Follow all health, safety, and licensing regulations.
  • Ensure playground and classroom safety.
  • Report incidents appropriately.
Care & Daily Routines:
  • Assist with diapering, toileting, and hygiene routines.
  • Support meal and snack times.
  • Help with nap setup and supervision.
  • Maintain accurate diaper and daily logs.
  • Keep children clean, comfortable, and secure.
Behavior & Emotional Support:
  • Use positive guidance strategies.
  • Support emotional regulation and problem-solving.
  • Implement Conscious Discipline techniques.
  • Build trusting relationships with children.
Family Communication:
  • Update daily reports and photos through Brightwheel as assigned.
  • Communicate professionally with families when needed.
  • Share classroom highlights and milestones.
Team Collaboration:
  • Work cooperatively with lead teachers and staff across multiple classrooms.
  • Attend staff meetings and trainings.
  • Follow center policies and procedures.
  • Support coworkers when needed.
Cleaning & Organization:
  • Sanitize toys, tables, and learning areas daily.
  • Maintain clean diapering and eating spaces.
  • Organize classroom materials and supplies.
  • Follow cleaning schedules.
